Eastern Quarter Horse of North Carolina

February 2008

Hello everyone. I take with much seriousness the honor of being the 2008 President of EQHNC. While I am very pleased with the progress that the entire association made last year, there are still ways to make improvements to our association. This will have to be a group effort. We have so many wonderful people within our organization. I know that many of you have so much to offer in the way of creative ideas and energy to make our association the best it can be. Our goal for EQHNC is to offer a family-friendly, fun place to exhibit and promote the American Quarter Horse.

The Board of Directors will be having an all-day workshop on Saturday, February 23 to discuss the events and goals for the upcoming year. We are in the process of reorganization of the futurity stallion program and once that is finalized, I will be bringing you specific details of the new program. Our year end awards will be financially tied to the amount of exhibitor participation at all EQHNC approved shows. A portion of the office fees at the approved EQHNC shows will be paid into an account to fund our year end awards. All of the office fees at the Easter Bunny Circuit, the July Youth Show Circuit and the Turkey Circuit will go into this fund. The more participation we have at our shows, the more we will pay back at year end. The sky is the limit!

If you have any suggestions on how to improve the horse shows or the association, please feel free to contact me or anyone on the Board of Directors. I look forward to a fun and prosperous year!
